TEACHING & OUTREACH

Other organizations I'm involved with

Network Analysis for Community Ecology and Conservation
While at Stanford, I designed and taught a class on network analysis and its applications in community ecology and conservation research. Check out the class syllabus here.
Mentoring undergraduate students
I love working with undergraduate students and involving them with my research. I have worked with many talented and dedicated students, many of whom have gone to pursue careers in the sciences. If you're interested in working with me at Emory University, please get in touch!

Stanford Environmental Leadership and Language Program
I was a teacher and co-coordinator for one iteration of Stanford Woods Institute's SELAL program, an English-language immersion program for Costa Rican high school students in the Osa Peninsula. I was in charge of teaching tropical ecology and conservation, as well as mentoring students, helping with all classroom and field trip activities, and working with local community partners. You can read more about SELAL here!
National Geographic Student Expeditions
Each summer, I lead trips for high school students to locations around the world with National Geographic. So far I've been lucky enough to lead the Hawai'i trip (twice), which focuses on agroecology and restoration community service, and the Australia trip with a focus on wildlife conservation. Read more about NGS Student Expeditions here.
